The Inelle Hotel, Oakhurst

Where we stayed for our Yosemite trip—

and the place that shaped the pace of everything.

All the details are linked here

We ended up staying in Oakhurst, a small town just outside Yosemite—and honestly, it was one of the best decisions of the trip.

It’s about an hour from Fresno and just 16 miles from the park’s south entrance, which made it easy to spend full days in Yosemite without constantly watching the clock.

But what I remember most isn’t the distance—it’s how it felt to come back at the end of the day.

Oakhurst was quieter. Slower. A place to land after being out all day.

And The Inelle sat right in the middle of that.

A Stay That Set the Tone

We stayed at The Inelle Hotel, and without really realizing it at first, it ended up shaping the rhythm of the entire trip.

There was something about coming back there each night that made everything feel more manageable—like the days didn’t have to be rushed or packed to feel full.

It wasn’t overdone or overly styled. Just calm, comfortable, and easy to settle into.

And somehow, that feeling carried into everything else.

What Made It Feel Easy

There wasn’t one big thing—it was all the small details working together.

The rooms were simple, but thoughtfully designed. Nothing felt excessive, but everything felt considered.

There were quiet places to sit, spaces to gather, and just enough going on that you never felt like you had to leave to enjoy it.

It felt like it was designed for how people actually travel—long days out, slow mornings, and somewhere comfortable to come back to at the end of it.

More Than Just a Place to Stay

What stood out most wasn’t just the room—it was everything around it.

The Inelle felt like a place you could actually spend time in, not just somewhere you came back to at the end of the day. There was always somewhere to sit, somewhere to linger, somewhere that made it feel like you didn’t need to rush off to the next thing.

In the mornings, it was quiet and easy—coffee, slower starts, and the kind of pace that made the day feel open instead of planned out.

And then by the evening, everything shifted just enough. Out on the patio, people gathered around the fire, conversations carried a little longer, and no one seemed in a hurry to go anywhere.

It wasn’t loud or busy, and it wasn’t empty either—just a steady, comfortable energy that made it easy to settle in and stay a while.

And that’s what ended up mattering most. It wasn’t just where we stayed—it became part of the trip itself.

Following Along

This was just one part of the trip, and I’ll be sharing more as it all comes together—what we did in Yosemite, where we ate, and the moments that ended up standing out the most.

I’m sharing each piece over on Instagram as it goes live, so you can follow along in real time as I add to it.

Everything is linked here as well, so if you’re planning a trip of your own, you can find the details without having to search for them.
